I would recommend you not to get any GPS since it is a distraction for a beginning driver.
It will take away your concentration on your newly developed skills. It can be costly to you.
You are better off planning your route in advance, at least for the first year.
Now, if you insist, Garmin and TomTom make good quality, good features GPSs for little over $100
I would reccomend a Garmin (from Best Buy of course j/k). They are all (Tom, Tom, Garmin, Magellans, etc) pretty simple to use, but Garmins screen display is more clear & easy to read than the others, from what I notice.
The color contrast makes it real easy to see, so you wont have to take eyes off the road for an extended amount of time.
Ok well Tom-Tom can be on the pricey side but they are the best, I have a Tom-Tom, paid $325 for it,
It has:
- bluetooth hands free
- touch screen
Some of the cheaper ones but still good are Garmin and Prima or even Sony, and Navigon, they may not have bluetooth or touchscreen but they do the trick, Garmin I hear is good.
They range from $150-$550, depends on what your looking for.
