This review is misleading. Scott Snell's review is a good read to help appreciate the differences between the DC-40, DC-30, and the earlier DC-30 (http://www.gundogsupply.com/garmin-astro-gps-dog-tracking-collars-reviews.html).

Don't buy a DC-20 (still available in some online stores). The DC-30 is more reliable, but the DC-40 has major upgrades in durability, charging, and a few other features. As you might guess, the DC-40 costs more. You can buy the Astro 220 handheld unit (works with all three) alone, in a kit with one collar, or in a kit with two collars. Collars can be bought individually. The DC-40 is new and not yet widely available. You might find increasing bargains on the DC-30 collars.
